Oil pulling is the practice of swishing or “pulling” oil in your mouth. Based in Indian culture, it is an ancient daily practice that seeks to support pulling toxins from the body. Such Ayurvedic practices are based on the idea of the importance of a balanced mind, body and spirit for general health. Slowly swish the liquid around your mouth and “chew” on it for 5 to 15 minutes. Do not swallow the oil. When done, spit it into the toilet (not into the sink), and rinse your mouth with lukewarm, saline water.
